A Good Foundation Series
Before you build you must start with a good foundation. All the paint in the world won’t fix faulty wiring. In this series we will learn how are thoughts and feelings are connected , how we are living in our own heads, the impact of roles in our life, why we make negative predictions and how fear limits our brain’s ability to do its job.
It’s all in Your Head.
Why do we think and feel the way we do? How do our minds work? Emotional Hoarder, Recycler, Neat Freak or Hostess, what is going on in your head? Changing the outside world is an inside job. On this call we will explore the connection between thoughts, feelings and behavior and discuss how to manage all of it!
Who do you think you are?
Everyone has a story, but the role or roles you play in your story are the biggest predictor of your behavior. What roles are you playing? Do you call yourself a perfectionist, a worrier, or control freak? The peacemaker, failure or good girl? We will explore the impact of the roles by also looking at them in context; roles at home vs. roles at work, roles with friends vs. roles with parents. We will discuss how to “drop the act” and live role free!
Fortune Telling
How many times a day do you say or think-”I know” or “what if”? I know this isn’t going to work out. What if I don’t get the job? I know I am going to fail. We attempt to make predictions all day long and typically they are rooted in negativity. In this call we will explore why we think we know so much and how to replace these limiting thought patterns that keep us stuck and weigh us down.
Fearless, gulp.
Fear can impact our brain’s ability to function. Most of us have fears about things that rarely come to pass, others struggle daily with fear. Fear doesn’t have to paralyze you, but for many it’s impact can be debilitating. On this call we will explore confronting your fear, no matter how big or small, the way the brain processes fear and how to decrease its frequency and intensity. Action conquers fear, do it scared!
